Four Gold medals at the Mundus Vini Spring Tasting – and a “Best of Show Alto Adige white”

Great success for Cantina Kurtatsch at this year’s Mundus Vini Spring Tasting: no fewer than four wines from our winery were awarded Gold. Particularly noteworthy is the PENON-HOFSTATT Pinot Bianco 2024, which, in addition to the gold medal, also received the title “Best of Show Alto Adige white”– the highest distinction awarded by Mundus Vini to the best wines in a specific category, in this case for the best white wine from Alto Adige.

The Pinot Bianco from the Penon-Hofstatt site impressed the international jury of experts with its precise style, elegance and clear expression of origin, standing out among numerous wines from the region.

In addition to this special recognition, three more wines from Cantina Kurtatsch received Gold:

  • PENON-KOFL Sauvignon 2024

  • VENTIS Cabernet Franc Riserva 2023

  • SOMA Merlot Cabernet 2023

These awards confirm two of our great passions: the vinification of UGA wines, made possible by the altitude difference of around 700 metres and the diversity of our wine-growing area, as well as our enthusiasm for Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, which have found ideal conditions for decades on the first steep slopes of Kurtatsch.

We are very pleased about this recognition and congratulate our member families and the entire team this wonderful achievement.
