Wine Enthusiast: 95 points for HOFSTATT 2023

In the Winter 2026 Buying Guide, Wine Enthusiast awarded our HOFSTATT Pinot Bianco 2023 95 points. In his tasting note, Jeff Porter describes this terroir wine as one that reveals something new with every return to the glass: "Like a good mystery, a good wine knows how to pace its revelations. With this bottle, each return to the glass brings something new: gentle flowers opening to ripe orchard fruits. The palate plays with expectations, shifting from green apple brightness through peach and toasted almond before stone and salt create an ending that keeps you thinking. Drink now–2045." - Jeff Porter

The recognition by Wine Enthusiast is a further confirmation of our clear focus on terroir and quality. HOFSTATT stands as a representative example of the terroir-driven philosophy that has shaped our winery for decades. Since the release of the 2024 vintage, and with the introduction of the Alto Adige UGA classification, HOFSTATT has been labeled as “PENON-HOFSTATT”. The Additional Geographical Unit (UGA)  Penon-Hofstatt lies within the broader UGA Penon, which is why it will carry this designation going forward. You can find out more about this topic and about our winery’s leading role here.
