FREIENFELD Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva 2022: Best Red Wine from Alto Adige & among Italy’s Top 100 Red Wines

In the yearly ranking by Gentleman, the Italian business and lifestyle magazine, our FREIENFELD Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva 2022 has been included among the 100 best red wines of Italy 2026 – making it the highest-ranked red wine from Alto Adige.

For the 2026 edition, a total of 2,123 wines were considered, all of which had received top scores in Italy’s leading wine guides. The ranking is based on evaluations from five key publications: Vini d’Italia by Gambero Rosso, I vini di Veronelli, Guida Essenziale ai Vini d’Italia by Daniele Cernilli (DoctorWine), Vitae by the Associazione Italiana Sommelier and Bibenda by the Fondazione Italiana Sommelier. For each wine, the scores awarded by all five guides were verified and combined to determine the final overall ranking.

In the final classification, our FREIENFELD Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva 2022 ranks 27th with a total of 469 points across the above-mentioned wine guides. With this result, it leads the Gentleman ranking as the best red wine from Alto Adige among Italy’s Top 100. A further confirmation of the potential of our vineyards on the first steep slopes below the village centre of Kurtatsch for Bordeaux varieties.
