About this wine

Müller Thurgau GRAUN 2016 has been enjoying a rest in our cellar for seven years, now it can arrive on your doorstep (for a short time only) as an exclusive and strictly limited “Cellar Reserve" edition in a six-bottle wooden box!

The wine:

The 2016 vintage was characterised by an especially beautiful fall with warm days and cool nights that followed a relatively hot summer. Thanks to the wide temperature swings between day and night at 800+ meters in Graun, these grapes retain their natural acidity even in warmer years, evident especially as bottle aging advances. The 2016 vintage displays first ripe notes that reveal its Riesling character (Riesling x Madeleine Royal are the parents of Müller Thurgau). On the palate, the wine is very balanced and entices with its lively acidity, lending the wine a long finish.

The "Cellar Reserve" project: We put aside a few bottles of selected vintages of promising wines in order to put them on the market as exclusive "Cellar Reserve" editions after advanced maturation. Every bottle is examined by our cellarmaster before it is packaged in a high quality wooden box, sporting its "Cellar Reserve" label and wrapped in fine paper.
