With united forces. A story of community and origin.

125 Years of Cantina Kurtatsch

The original since 1900.

3 cypresses - 3 values.

Together since 1900.

With united forces

1900: founded.
190 ha vineyards.
190 families.
1 strong team.

What began 125 years ago on May 13th with 42 courageous winegrowers — united in their desire to stand strong in the market and secure their future — has grown into a a thriving community of 190 families. Together, they continue to build this legacy, working side by side for their shared values and the generations to come.

125 years – more than just a number.

It stands for resilience, for community, for the courage to embrace change – and for generations of hard work. 125 years mean our winery has weathered crises, evolved, grown, and, when needed, reinvented itself – all while staying true to its values.

The original since 1900.

3 cypresses - 3 values.

Who we are and what makes us tick.

Three values, symbolized by the three cypresses in our logo, shape everything we do.

Our goal: produce characterful wines, using sustainable methods, which best mirror their terroir – their varying origins – in the best possible way.

What drives us: a strong belief in the incredible potential of the vineyards around Kurtatsch and the commitment to creating lasting value for our community and future generations.

Mediterranean meets Alpine – the wine village of Kurtatsch.

Beyond symbolizing our three core values, the three cypresses also reflect our deep bond with the wine village of Kurtatsch. They speak of the Mediterranean climate that shapes our vineyards and are a familiar sight around the village. Thanks to the mild temperatures and plenty of sunshine, these warmth-loving trees thrive in the vineyards below the striking mountain ridge that rises above Kurtatsch – often appearing in groups of three!

Rooted in our terroir since 1900.

Vineyard by Vineyard

We live terroir.

Best wines grow in best terroirs. In Kurtatsch, the vineyards - unique in Europe – are located between 220m to 900m in altitude. Each variety thus finds its ideal growing condition. Thanks to this and the sustainable way of cultivation we produce distinctive wines that reflect their terroir. Vineyard by Vineyard. Wine by Wine.

Experience terroir - our wine shop & wine experiences

Our deep appreciation for terroir is reflected throughout the winery and in every wine experience we offer: in the façade made of authentic dolomite stone, echoing the dramatic rock walls of Kurtatsch; in the wine shop, offering panoramic views of the surrounding vineyards; in the TERROIR Experience, which tells the story of our vineyard sites; and in the "dolomite" barrique cellar, built into the natural rock.

Beyond the TERROIR Experience, you can dive even deeper into our philosophy with a range of unique experiences: the Wineexpedition, a guided day hike through the vineyards, the experience "Top of Kurtatsch", an exclusive tasting of our finest wines, and the experience "Back in time", a rare opportunity to taste aged treasures from our cellar.
