Lumina
About this wine
For the first time, two LUMINA wines are available in the same year. Both reflect the remarkable differences in altitude that characterise Kurtatsch's vineyards: while LUMINA White originates from the highest vineyards at elevations of up to 900 metres above sea level, LUMINA Red comes from one of the warmest and lowest-lying vineyard sites of Cantina Kurtatsch.
The red, sandy loam soils, combined with warm days and cool nights, provide ideal conditions for producing outstanding red wines from Bordeaux grape varieties. The result is a complex Merlot with its characteristic fruity and spicy aromas – powerful, yet fresh and elegant. Produced exclusively for "Südtirol hilft", the wine was aged for one year in barriques, followed by three years of bottle ageing. It has now reached its ideal drinking window, offering a truly exceptional tasting experience.
Once again this year, LUMINA offers the opportunity to raise a glass for a good cause. All net proceeds go to "Südtirol hilft", supporting families and individuals in need. In this way, enjoying a special wine also means making a valuable contribution to people facing difficult circumstances. Whether as a gift or for your own enjoyment, LUMINA is a wonderful way to share joy while making a difference.
